Trendy salad chain Sweetgreen is opening its third Minnesota location in St. Paul on Tuesday, Nov. 8. Sweetgreen, which was founded in 2006 in Washington, D.C., but is now based in Los Angeles, serves a menu of primarily salads and grain bowls that rotate seasonally. In St. Paul, the restaurant is at 735 Grand Ave., the spot on the corner of Grotto Street where Pier 1 Imports used to be. To mark opening day, the salad chain is holding a number of promotions on Nov. 8. The St. Paul location is sponsoring giveaways from Minneapolis-based makers including The Plant Penthouse, Baker's Field Flour and Bread, and artist Ashley Mary, who also painted a large-scale mural for the restaurant space.
